President Aoun hails the humanitarian action of Caritas towards people and refugees

The President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, received, this afternoon at the presidential palace in Baabda, a delegation from Caritas Lebanon League chaired by Bishop Michel Aoun, representing Patriarch Bechara al Rai. 
Bishop Aoun, congratulated, the President on his election, hoping that he will call on the ministries concerned by the work of Caritas to give special importance to the League and facilitate its work.
Father Paul Karam, a member of the delegation, spoke about the problems facing Caritas, especially in the light of the Syrian refugee crisis, lamenting the inaction of some of the state’s department, noting that many of the services provided by Caritas exceed in quality and quantity those provided by the ministries. The needs are enormous and that is why we ask for greater support from your Excellency.
President Aoun praised "the hard work carried out by Caritas-Lebanon to reduce people's suffering and meet their needs, saying that "the situation in Lebanon has increased the number of people demanding health insurance and social and humanitarian protection."
The president said that "the record of Syrian refugees increases the difficulties that have reflected on the ministries and their administrations".
President Aoun said that after the formation of the government, he would give special attention to humanitarian associations and organizations, including Caritas, in order to empower it to perform charities.

President Aoun continues to receive congratulatory telegrams on the occasion of Independence Day, including a telegram from the Queen of England, the Slovak President and the President of the Swiss Federation.
