The President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, praised the uprising of life last night that took place at the Temple of Bacchus in the Citadel of Baalbek, where the Lebanese and the world lived through a tremendous and artistic musical atmosphere in art, poetry, performance and passion, in an initiative that is inspired with steadfastness that the Lebanese people encounter.

 

President Aoun described the musical evening , with conductor, Harout Vasilyan,  who led the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra, as the most expressive expression of the spirit of challenge and confrontation that drives the will of the Lebanese in the face of the Corona epidemic, and the economic and financial crisis that is  unprecedented in the history of the homeland, at a time we are celebrating anniversary of the first centenary of the birth of Greater Lebanon.

 

The President also thanked the organizers for the exceptional artistic event during the grim days. He called on the Lebanese to adhere to hope and creativity, and not to surrender to obstacles and difficulties, but, rather overcome the current reality and cross to the side of advancement and stability that we are aspire to do.

Austrian Ambassador:

President Aoun received this morning, at Baabda Palace, the Austrian Ambassador to Lebanon Marian WRBA, on a farewell visit to mark the end of his four-year diplomatic mission term in Lebanon.  President Aoun thanked the Ambassador and for the role he played in strengthening Lebanese-Austrian relations and granted him in recognition, the National Cedar Medal with the rank of senior officer.

 

Former Minister Raed Khoury, and Fadi Asali:

President Aoun discussed the economic and financial situation with former minister, Raed Khoury, and the advisor to the President of the Republic for Gulf Affairs, Fadi Asali. The meeting covered measures put forward to address current issues .

 

Former MP, Faisal Al-Daoud:

President Aoun met the Secretary-General of the “Movement of Struggle” former MP, Faisal Al-Daoud, and discussed with him several national affairs, and the development, social and economic needs of the Rashaya region, Western Beqaa, and Hasbaya. The meeting tackled ways to provide the necessary services to the people of the region, especially during the current circumstances. Al-Daoud pointed out that he had touch from the President of the Republic his determined interest to activate the development programs for the regions of Rashaya and Hasbaya that leads to the attachment of the people to their land.​
