​The Presidency Press Office issued the following statement:

“Al-Jadeed channel broadcasted an interview this morning with journalist Jad Ghosn, in which he claimed that President Michel Aoun told the French and US Ambassadors in Lebanon about the formation of the government, and his remaining in the Presidency after the end of his presidential term, in the event that a new government is not formed.

Ghosn’s statements on the “Al-Jadeed” station are baseless, fabricated and imaginative, and fall within the framework of false narratives that are woven from time to time to mislead public opinion and offend the position of the Presidency and the person of the President”.​
