Mission of the Republican Guard

The Republican Guard ought to:

- Protect H.E. the President of the Republic and the members of his family in their residences in Lebanon and abroad as well as during their travels.
- Protect Kings, Heads of States, Diplomats, officials and other guests paying visit to His Excellency the President of the Republic.
- Pay due honor and protocol ceremonies for H.E. the President and high ranking Lebanese and foreign officials.
- Secure the Presidential Palace, including its quarters and surroundings, as well as any other residence taken by H.E. the President.
The Republican Guard is part of the Army Command Reserves.

Therefore:

The Republican Guard’s mission consists of :

- Ensuring the security of H.E. the President’s residences:

  1. The Presidential Palace – Baabda.
  2. The Presidential Summer Residence – Beiteddine Palace
  3. Any other residence taken by H.E. the President of the Republic.

- Providing the security escort of H.E. the President in his travels.
- Maintaining safety and security at events, national ceremonies and other activities headed or attended by H.E. the President of the Republic.
- Preparing for the visits of H.E. the President of the Republic abroad and taking the necessary organizational and security measures to ensure:

  • The President’s safety and security during these visits.
  • The safety and security of heads of states during their visits to Lebanon.
  • The safety and security of important conferences held in Lebanon.
