Lebanese Order of Merit
Created by decision No.1080 dated 16/1/1922, it is actually regulated by the code of decorations (decree-law 122 dated 12/6/1959) and consists of two dignities and four ordinary classes as follows:
- The extraordinary grade: to honor heads of states.
- Grand cordon: to honor presidents of legislative assemblies, Prime ministers, princes and crown princes.
- Four ordinary classes: to award great services rendered to Lebanon, outstanding acts of courage, acts of great moral value, and years in public service.
