National order of the cedar
Created by the law of 31/12/1936, actually regulated by the code of
decorations (decree-law 122 dated 12/6/1959), this order consists of
five grades: grand cordon, grand officer, commander, officer,
knight.
It is awarded for great services rendered to Lebanon, for acts of
courage and devotion of great moral value, as for years in public
service.
Only the grade of knight can be awarded for the first time except
to non-Lebanese who can be decerned any of the grades. |
