​President Aoun requested that the judicial and military bodies to hold an investigation into the circumstances of the sinking boat.

President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, followed up on the details of the sinking of the boat off the coast of Tripoli.

The boat was sailing with Lebanese and non-Lebanese people illegally outside the Lebanese territorial waters.

President Aoun was briefed on the rescuing of passengers of the boat who survived the sinking and securing the necessary treatment for them, while the military units continue to search for the other passengers. 

In addition, the President asked relevant judicial and military authorities to open an investigation into the circumstances of the sinking of the boat.​
