​President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, congratulated the Lebanese workers on Labor Day occasion, and promised them to continue working “So that Lebanon’s economy will move from rentier economy to productive which will root the people of the country in their land”.

President Aoun said in a speech on the occasion of Labor Day, which falls on Sunday:

“From the heart of difficult conditions we suffer from, I pay tribute to every Lebanese worker for their efforts every day to earn a living by honest effort.

My pledge to the Lebanese and the workers among them is to continue to work so that the clouds of crises resulting from the accumulation of years, the heavy costs of which have been paid by the workers of Lebanon, will dissipate, so that they will return to the dignity of the most prominent contribution to the transfer of Lebanon from a rentier economy to a productive economy that will root our compatriots in their land as well as in the aspirations of a promising future”.​
