​Minister Slim: “The military institution will not allow any abuse which may cause disturbances or threaten public safety”.

President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, met Minister of National Defense, Brigadier General Maurice Selim.

The security situation after the events that took place yesterday in the Tayouneh area, and the role the army played in controlling the situation, restoring security and stability and preventing the recurrence of such events through the procedures and measures to be taken, were addressed.

The meeting also tackled the need to expedite the ongoing investigations to identify those responsible, hold the perpetrators and instigators accountable, and arrest them based on the reference of the competent judiciary.  

In addition, Minister Slim asserted that the military institution is keen on maintaining security, stability and the safety of citizens and will not allow any abuses that would cause disturbances or threaten public safety.​
