President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, signed Decree No. 9128 dated 12/5/2022. The decree determines the value of fees required for renewing an ordinary passport valid only for parliamentary elections.

Text:

Article 1: The General Directorate of General Security has the authority to renew Lebanese passports (the blue-chip “model 2003” or expired biometric passports) in exchange for 200,000 Lebanese Pounds, provided that it is allocated only to the voting of the Lebanese residing in Lebanon, who were registered in the electoral lists related to the 2022 elections, until the completion of the voting process.

Article 2: This decree shall be effective immediately upon its publication in the Official Gazette.​
