​Immediately after the formation of the new Cabiner, President Sleiman received a telephone call from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad during which he congratulated him for the formation of the new Cabinet. The discussions also addressed issues of common interest for both countries.
President Sleiman voiced hope that stability and calm will be restored in Syria very soon.
